Enrolled? Let’s plan your visits.
Once your enrolment paperwork is complete, you’re welcome to arrange as many Stay and Play visits as you need before your child’s start date. Talk with your Centre Manager to plan visits and the level of family support that suits your child.
There is no fixed number of visits. For example, if you complete your paperwork two weeks before your child starts, you can use that time to arrange visits and become more familiar with the centre. Two weeks is an example, not a set programme or a required waiting period.
Arrange your Stay and Play visits with your Centre Manager after completing enrolment paperwork and before your child’s formal start date.
You’re warmly welcome to stay.
Parents are welcome to spend time with their child during Stay and Play. Explore the room, meet educators and share the little things that help your child feel comfortable. This is a chance for the team to get to know your family, too.
A visit might be an hour or two, or another duration agreed with your Centre Manager. Rather than following a fixed timetable, talk together about the length of each visit and what would work best for your child and family.
Small moments of familiarity.
Visiting before the first day gives children opportunities to recognise the learning environment, spend time with educators and meet new friends. They might explore an inviting play space, join an experience or simply take time to look around with you nearby.
You can use the visits to share information about your child’s interests, routines, comfort items and communication. Tell the team what you notice, what your child enjoys and what questions you still have.
A transition you plan together.
Some families may begin by staying alongside their child throughout a visit. If it suits your child, you can discuss a gradual change in support with your Centre Manager, such as spending part of a later visit with your child taking part in the room more independently.
Any time apart from your child should be agreed with the Centre Manager in advance. Stay and Play is a planned transition, not an automatic drop-off arrangement. Your family and the team can keep talking and adjust the plan as you learn what helps your child.
How to get started.
- Find your centre. Explore the local spaces and experiences that interest your family.
- Book a tour. Meet the team, see the centre and ask your questions.
- Enrol when it feels right. Complete the enrolment paperwork and agree your child’s formal start date with the centre.
- Enjoy Stay and Play. Contact your Centre Manager to arrange your visits before that start date.
When planning, confirm visit times, the arrangements for your family and any fee questions directly with the centre. Your Centre Manager is the best person to help you organise the details.
