More than one way to learn.

A child might explore a question through movement, a painting or a science experience. At Underwood, active sports, music and science sit alongside school-readiness experiences, giving children different ways to take part.

Kindergarten programs are led by Early Childhood Teachers. Children can build communication, friendships and growing independence through learning experiences that suit their interests.

Connected to the world beyond our rooms.

Incursions and excursions add another layer to the learning journey. The centre’s offering includes library trips and health checks, alongside opportunities to connect with the wider community.

During your tour, ask how these experiences are organised for your child’s room, including participation arrangements and what is scheduled next.

Fresh food, prepared onsite.

Our onsite chef prepares nutritious meals for the day. Share your child’s dietary needs and preferences with the team so they can discuss the information and individual arrangements required.

Your family’s next step.

A tour is a chance to see the spaces, meet the team and talk about what matters to your family. Bring questions about your child’s routine, the program they would join, current fees and availability.

Our starting childcare guide can help you plan those first conversations. You can also explore our shared learning approach and food and nutrition information.

What outdoor and community experiences can children explore?

Underwood offers outdoor play and water park experiences, with library visits and community connections adding to learning beyond the room. Speak with the team about the current experience calendar and arrangements for your child’s group.

How do you support learning before school?

Underwood’s kindergarten programme is led by Early Childhood Teachers. Music, science, creative experiences and school-readiness activities give children different ways to build communication, friendships and independence. Explore our kindergarten approach and ask about your child’s local programme on a tour.

What are Underwood’s opening hours?

Expeditions Underwood is open Monday to Friday, 6:30 am–6:30 pm. The centre is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Please confirm public holiday hours directly with the team when planning care.

What is included in daily fees at Underwood?

Daily fees include meals prepared by our onsite chef, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, incursions and excursions. We serve halal food and discuss individual allergies and dietary needs with families before care begins. Underwood also includes swimming lessons in its own onsite pool in daily fees. Discuss your child’s dietary and care needs with the team before starting.

How do I check fees and availability for my child?

Fees and places depend on the care arrangements you need. Contact the Underwood team on 07 3667 9898 or [email protected]. Share your child’s age, preferred days and intended start date, and ask for current session details and a fee breakdown. An enquiry does not guarantee a place.

Can I use Child Care Subsidy at Underwood?

Child Care Subsidy depends on your family’s eligibility, the approved care arrangements and your Services Australia assessment. Ask the centre to confirm the details for the sessions you are considering. Our CCS calculator provides a guide for one child under 6 who is not attending school, using standard CCS only; it does not model higher sibling CCS, Additional CCS or school-age care. The 3 Day Guarantee guide explains subsidised hours, not three free days or a guaranteed place.

Does Underwood offer Queensland Free Kindy?

Expeditions Underwood was listed in the Queensland Government Free Kindy Finder when checked on 28 October 2026. Confirm the centre’s programme hours, your child’s age eligibility and arrangements for 2027 with the team. Free Kindy supports eligible kindergarten programme hours, not every hour of long day care. Read our Queensland Free Kindy guide.

Can we visit Underwood before choosing childcare?

Yes. A tour is a chance to meet the team, explore Underwood’s spaces and talk about your child’s routines, interests and care needs. Choose this centre for a tour and use our childcare tour checklist to prepare questions about rooms, communication, meals and the daily programme.

How does Stay and Play work at Underwood?

Once your enrolment paperwork is complete, you can arrange as many Stay and Play visits as you need before your child’s start date. Plan the visits, duration and level of family support with your Centre Manager. Parents are warmly welcome to stay as children become familiar with the educators, environment and other children. Visits are arranged with the team, not unrestricted drop-off care. Read our Stay and Play guide.
