Learning that follows the child.

At Officer, play-based learning responds to children’s interests and stage of development. Educators can use a question or an idea as a starting point, providing materials and experiences that help children explore it further.

Our kinder programs are led by Early Childhood Teachers. Opportunities to communicate, solve problems and work alongside others help build confidence for the next part of the learning journey.

An adventure beyond the centre.

Incursions and excursions include library trips and health checks. Swimming lessons and nature experiences add further opportunities for discovery.

Talk with the team about the current schedule, venues, age groups and arrangements for your child.

Good food for full days.

Nutritious meals are prepared onsite by our chef. Families can share food preferences and dietary needs with the centre team and discuss the arrangements required before their child starts.

Your family’s next step.

A tour is a chance to see the spaces, meet the team and talk about what matters to your family. Bring questions about your child’s routine, the program they would join, current fees and availability.

Questions from Officer families

Practical answers to help you plan a visit and choose care for your child.

Where is Expeditions Officer?

You can find us at 45–47 Dodson Road, Officer VIC 3809.

What kind of learning approach does Officer use?

Officer offers play-based learning that follows children’s interests and stage of development, with creative art stations and natural outdoor environments.

Are swimming lessons available?

Swimming lessons with qualified teachers are part of Officer’s offering. Please ask the team about current participation arrangements, including venue, age groups and scheduling.

Does Officer offer Kinder and Bush Kinder experiences?

Officer’s offering includes a Kinder programme, natural outdoor learning and Bush Kinder experiences. Creative art stations and play-based learning give children opportunities to investigate their own ideas. Ask the team about the programme, session arrangements and experiences for your child’s stage.

Are meals prepared onsite at Officer?

Yes. Officer has an onsite chef preparing meals as part of the daily fee. Before starting, share any dietary needs, allergies and preferences with the team so they can discuss individual arrangements. Our food and nutrition information outlines useful questions to bring.

What are Officer’s opening hours?

Expeditions Officer is open Monday to Friday, 6:30 am–6:30 pm. The centre is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Please confirm public holiday hours directly with the team when planning care.

What is included in daily fees at Officer?

Daily fees include meals prepared by our onsite chef, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, incursions and excursions. We serve halal food and discuss individual allergies and dietary needs with families before care begins. Ask about any specialty programme arrangements rather than assuming every additional activity is included. Discuss your child’s dietary and care needs with the team before starting.

How do I check fees and availability for my child?

Fees and places depend on the care arrangements you need. Contact the Officer team on 03 8907 8007 or [email protected]. Share your child’s age, preferred days and intended start date, and ask for current session details and a fee breakdown. An enquiry does not guarantee a place.

Can I use Child Care Subsidy at Officer?

Child Care Subsidy depends on your family’s eligibility, the approved care arrangements and your Services Australia assessment. Ask the centre to confirm the details for the sessions you are considering. Our CCS calculator provides a guide for one child under 6 who is not attending school, using standard CCS only; it does not model higher sibling CCS, Additional CCS or school-age care. The 3 Day Guarantee guide explains subsidised hours, not three free days or a guaranteed place.

Is Free Kinder available at Officer?

Ask the team to confirm funded programme participation, Free Kinder opt-in, your child’s eligibility and the fee arrangements for your enrolment year. We have not yet independently verified these centre-specific funding details for 2027. In long day care, Free Kinder is a fee offset rather than a promise of completely free care. Read our Victorian Free Kinder guide.

Can we visit Officer before choosing childcare?

Yes. A tour is a chance to meet the team, explore Officer’s spaces and talk about your child’s routines, interests and care needs. Choose this centre for a tour and use our childcare tour checklist to prepare questions about rooms, communication, meals and the daily programme.

How does Stay and Play work at Officer?

Once your enrolment paperwork is complete, you can arrange as many Stay and Play visits as you need before your child’s start date. Plan the visits, duration and level of family support with your Centre Manager. Parents are warmly welcome to stay as children become familiar with the educators, environment and other children. Visits are arranged with the team, not unrestricted drop-off care. Read our Stay and Play guide.
