Opportunities to explore beyond the centre.

Curiosity has many starting points.

Music and science experiences give young learners opportunities to listen, test ideas and explore what happens next. A sound, a movement or a question can become a reason to investigate together.

Our kindergarten programs are led by Early Childhood Teachers. Through play and shared experiences, children can practise communication, independence and the social skills that help them take part in a group.

Learning that reaches beyond the everyday.

Avoca’s offering includes learning incursions and regular health checks. These bring different people and experiences into children’s learning environment.

When you visit, ask about the current program, the experiences suited to your child’s age and how families are kept informed.

Fresh meals from our onsite kitchen.

Our chef prepares nutritious meals onsite. Tell us about your child’s preferences and dietary needs, and the team will talk through the information needed to support their daily meals.

Your family’s next step.

A tour is a chance to see the spaces, meet the team and talk about what matters to your family. Bring questions about your child’s routine, the program they would join, current fees and availability.

Our starting childcare guide can help you plan those first conversations. You can also explore our shared learning approach and food and nutrition information.

Questions from Avoca families

Practical answers to help you plan a visit and choose care for your child.

Where is Expeditions Avoca?

Our centre is at 258 Avoca Road, Avoca QLD 4670, in the Bundaberg area.

What active experiences are offered at Avoca?

The centre’s offering includes gymnastics, self-defence classes, outdoor play and water park experiences. Ask the team about current schedules and participation arrangements.

Does Avoca offer kindergarten?

Yes. Kindergarten programs are led by Early Childhood Teachers. The team can explain the current program and enrolment options for your child.

How do children explore nature and creative learning at Avoca?

Bush tucker gardens invite children to notice the natural world, while music, science and creative experiences offer different ways to investigate ideas. Our Avoca photo gallery on this page gives you a glimpse of sensory, art and outdoor play; ask the team about current experiences when you visit.

Can I discuss meals and my child’s dietary needs?

Yes. Avoca has an onsite chef preparing meals for children. Share allergies, dietary needs and food preferences with the team before your child starts so individual arrangements can be discussed. See our food and nutrition guide; we do not promise an allergen-free environment.

What are Avoca’s opening hours?

Expeditions Avoca is open Monday to Friday, 6:30 am–6:30 pm. The centre is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Please confirm public holiday hours directly with the team when planning care.

What is included in daily fees at Avoca?

Daily fees include meals prepared by our onsite chef, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, incursions and excursions. We serve halal food and discuss individual allergies and dietary needs with families before care begins. Ask about any specialty programme arrangements rather than assuming every additional activity is included. Discuss your child’s dietary and care needs with the team before starting.

How do I check fees and availability for my child?

Fees and places depend on the care arrangements you need. Contact the Avoca team on 07 4152 7330 or [email protected]. Share your child’s age, preferred days and intended start date, and ask for current session details and a fee breakdown. An enquiry does not guarantee a place.

Can I use Child Care Subsidy at Avoca?

Child Care Subsidy depends on your family’s eligibility, the approved care arrangements and your Services Australia assessment. Ask the centre to confirm the details for the sessions you are considering. Our CCS calculator provides a guide for one child under 6 who is not attending school, using standard CCS only; it does not model higher sibling CCS, Additional CCS or school-age care. The 3 Day Guarantee guide explains subsidised hours, not three free days or a guaranteed place.

Does Avoca offer Queensland Free Kindy?

Expeditions Avoca was listed in the Queensland Government Free Kindy Finder when checked on 28 October 2026. Confirm the centre’s programme hours, your child’s age eligibility and arrangements for 2027 with the team. Free Kindy supports eligible kindergarten programme hours, not every hour of long day care. Read our Queensland Free Kindy guide.

Can we visit Avoca before choosing childcare?

Yes. A tour is a chance to meet the team, explore Avoca’s spaces and talk about your child’s routines, interests and care needs. Choose this centre for a tour and use our childcare tour checklist to prepare questions about rooms, communication, meals and the daily programme.

How does Stay and Play work at Avoca?

Once your enrolment paperwork is complete, you can arrange as many Stay and Play visits as you need before your child’s start date. Plan the visits, duration and level of family support with your Centre Manager. Parents are warmly welcome to stay as children become familiar with the educators, environment and other children. Visits are arranged with the team, not unrestricted drop-off care. Read our Stay and Play guide.
